Estate Planning

The office's Estate Planning practice in

volves advice and consultation with clients to help plan for the issuesof life and death. We prepare wills, living trusts, health care directives, property powers of attorney and other estateplanning documents.

We review client's existing wills and estate plans to modify and update documents based on changes in life circumstances, such as marriage, births, adult children and deaths. As part of the process, we review client assets, and as needed, coordinate matters with insurance, investment, accounting and other professionals to set up a sound plan.

Although estate planning is often more than just a simple will, good planning may:

  • Avoid the need for probate and the related delay and costs;
  • Provide confidentiality as to assets;
  • Minimize potential taxes; and
  • Establish contingency plans for disability and for loved ones upon death.

From a basic will to a more inclusive estate plan, our experience makes us a firm you can trust.

Probate & Guardianships

Probate practice in Illinois includes establishing and administering estates for the deceased as well as guardianship matters. Estates for the deceased include will (testate) or non-will (intestate) cases. Guardianship includes the legal ability to care for the person and or the property of both minor children and adults who are disabled.

The law office provides legal counsel, and court representation in each of the above matters. We handle both uncontested and contested probate matters. We represent guardians of minors, guardians of disabled persons, executors, administrators and related litigation.

The office also assists trustees in trust administration when probate is not required.
